“The Principles of 1776” commemorates the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, inviting students and community members to engage with America’s core promises — that all men are created equal, endowed with unalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness — and to reflect on how two and a half centuries of self-government have shaped those ideals.
