Gabriela was born and raised in Vienna, Austria. Given her Hungarian roots and her interest in the country’s culture, language, and politics, she completed a BA in Hungarian Studies, followed by a Master’s in European Studies at the University of Vienna. After discovering her passion for Political Science, she completed a Master of Science in Political Science at the University of Amsterdam.

Gabriela’s previous work experiences include internship positions at the Fund for Global Human Rights (Washington D.C.) and the United Nations (New York City) and a Schuman Traineeship position at the European Parliament (Brussels). She was also an associate fellow at the Austrian Institute for European and Security Policy and worked as a Community Engagement Manager at the Austrian Daily, Der Standard. In 2020, Gabriela co-founded the youth platform Quo Vademus.

Currently, she is a board member at the American Friends of the Documentation Centre of Austrian Resistance, an organisation associated with the Documentation Centre of Austrian Resistance (DÖW), a research centre focusing on resistance and persecution during the Nazi era, Nazi crimes, and right-wing extremism since 1945.

Gabriela regularly writes analyses and opinion pieces for international media outlets. Her articles have previously appeared in the New Eastern Europe Magazine, Social Europe, The Diplomat, Visegrad Insight and the Austrian Institute for European and Security Policy (AIES), among others. Gabriela is also a contributing writer to the Hungarian Observer, an English-language newsletter on Hungarian politics, culture and current affairs.
