Dr. Geoffrey Sheagley is an associate professor in the Department of Political Science in the School of Public and International Affairs at the SPIA. He received his Ph.D. in political science from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, in 2013 in the fields of American politics and political methodology. His research focuses on topics such as how members of the public form beliefs and evaluations of elected officials, the criteria voters use when picking between candidates running for office, and how the partisanship of individuals shapes their views of elections. He has published peer-reviewed articles in a variety of journals, including the American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, and Journal of Politics. Dr. Sheagley teaches courses on public opinion, survey research methods, and political psychology.
