Minjin’s research interests are in the area of political economy, migration, welfare state, and political behavior in East and Southeast Asia. Currently, she is investigating how welfare regimes, foreign relations, and media impact public attitudes toward immigrants in Asian countries.

Before starting the Ph.D. program, she received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in political science and international relations from Kyung Hee University in Seoul, South Korea. She worked as a research assistant in several government-funded projects and in a public opinion poll company.

Outside of the classroom, Minjin likes traveling, reading, and playing tennis. She also enjoys trying new experiences and healthy foods with her friends, watching TV series, and appreciates musicals or theater plays.
